Blue Line
Blue Line
Blue stripe poly pipes are fundamentally the same as black poly pipes, however, they are externally blue striped to code what type of medium (mains water) they contain.
They are also known as potable water mains. Blue striped poly pipe is also known as blue line HDPE pipe.
The benefit of using a blue stripe is so that after installation, the contents of the HDPE pipes are easily recognisable as carrying potable water.
This is especially important when blue stripe pipes are laid in a common trench, with other striped poly pipes, for example, a gas main which is marked with a yellow stripe.
